Paul Merson has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Bournemouth.
City’s previous league outing saw them secure a 1-0 win over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a second-half goal from Erling Haaland.
This weekend sees the Citizens back on their travels again as they take a trip down south to take on Bournemouth.
With the Blues still looking to stay close to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, one pundit has shared his thoughts on how he feels this latest game will go.
Merson drops City prediction for Bournemouth visit

In his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted all of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Merson had this to say about City’s match against the Cherries.
He said: “Manchester City haven’t looked particularly impressive recently. Chelsea gave them a hard game and created chances of their own. City played against Brentford in their midweek fixture, and they never really went anywhere with their passing.
“This won’t be an easy game for Man City. The pressure’s on at the moment, and they’re four points behind Liverpool in the title race. If they fail to win this game and then lose to Liverpool, it could mark the end of their title run.
“Bournemouth had a great run in the middle of their season but haven’t won their last four Premier League games. Man City aren’t blowing teams away at the moment, but I expect them to keep the pressure on Liverpool and win this game. 1-2.”
Although the Cherries have played one game fewer than City in the league this season, Pep Guardiola’s side are currently 11 places and 28 points ahead of them in the table.
City have also scored 25 more goals than Adoni Iraola’s outfit and conceded 20 fewer.
Despite all of that, the fact that Bournemouth have only lost three league games since their 6-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium back in November says to us that this could be a tough match for City and one that they will have to win to make sure they don’t fall behind in the title race.
