Journalist Mark Ogden has claimed that Kyle Walker would be delighted to leave Manchester City for a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the German club have spoken with the Englishman over a potential move to the Bundesliga side but are yet to approach City about it.
Now though, one journalist has suggested that this proposed move is more advanced than it already is claimed to be.
Ogden assesses Walker exit

Speaking in a recent video on the ESPN FC YouTube channel, Ogden said this about Walker’s potential move to Bayern.
He said: “I think people might be surprised that Bayern Munich are looking at Kyle Walker but the reality is that maybe two months ago now, Pep Guardiola said that he can’t play in the system he wants to play at Man City, he didn’t start the Champions League final, he’s 33 years old.
“I just think that with a year left on his contract, if Man City get an offer from Bayern Munich, which I think is more advanced than maybe some people are suggesting, I think Man City take it.
“I think Kyle Walker must be delighted by the prospect of, at the age of 33, getting a move to Bayern Munich. It’s a great move.”

Taking into account the significant number of trophies that Walker has won since joining City back in 2017, it would seem unlikely that he’d be able to get a similar amount of success at any other English club.
However, having recently won the treble, this could make a different challenge, such as playing for Bayern, a tempting prospect for the England international at this stage of his career.
His latest season in Pep Guardiola’s side saw the right-back feature in 39 games, donning the captain’s armband on a few occasions.
This showcases how useful he is for the Citizens and why his potential departure would leave a significant hole in the squad, regardless of the manager’s comments about his ability to play a certain way in his inverted system, as Ogden mentioned.
Moving forward, if the defender tells the club he wants to leave, they should respect his wishes given how well he has served them for such a significant period of time.
Although they will need to find someone that can come in and be a suitable replacement before their next campaign gets going.
