Pundit Ally McCoist has revealed one message he was recently sent about Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

The 23-year-old recently started his second Premier League campaign by scoring two goals in City’s 3-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor last Friday.

This has since led to one pundit sharing his thoughts on the centre-forward and even revealing a message he was sent about him.

Speaking on a pre-match live stream on City’s YouTube channel ahead of the club’s Super Cup clash against Sevilla, McCoist had this to say about Haaland.

He said: “He’s a machine, absolute machine.

“The game on Friday night for example, I’m sitting watching the game on Friday night and I’ve got five boys so our house is just total football, however, one of them, my older boys was watching it with his mates and after five minutes, the text came through: ‘he’s just ridiculous.’

“And he is, that’s what he is, he’ll get involved in the link-up play if he has to, but he just wants to position himself for a finish because that’s what he does and that’s what he’s brilliant at.

“He’s got every finish, he’s got back-post headers, he’s got tap-ins, he’s powerful enough, he’s quick enough to run through, he is the real deal.”

Having scored 52 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions last season, which ended with the Norwegian winning his first Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League title, breaking numerous records along the way, it’s easy to see why McCoist and one of his sons are amazed by the City star.

Even though he failed to score in last night’s win over Sevilla in Athens which saw City win the Super Cup and give Haaland his fourth trophy with the club, the striker will surely be delighted with the overall result.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side will be taking on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday evening, which will be a game that last season’s Golden Boot winner will surely want to add to his goal tally in and help his side pick up another three points.

However, with the two clubs ending the previous league campaign with the joint-fewest number of goals conceded (33), it’ll definitely be a tough test for the City star.
