Gary Neville has warned Manchester City not to sell Kyle Walker at any cost this summer.

Speaking on The Overlap’s Fan Debate, the popular pundit gave his two cents on the possibility of the 33-year-old’s exit from the Etihad Stadium.

Gary Neville strongly believes it would cost Manchester City if they let Kyle Walker go.

Gary Neville says Manchester City should not sell Kyle Walker at all costs

Branded as an ‘elite performer’ by The Athletic, the treble-winner has seemed likely to sign for Bayern Munich ahead of next season.

But Pep Guardiola came out and admitted that while a move was possible, the Sky Blues would do everything in their power to keep the treble-winner.

Now, Gary Neville has said that Manchester City should not even consider selling Kyle Walker, saying, “That’d be a massive loss potentially. They can’t let him go. If him, [Ilkay] Gundogan and [Riyad] Mahrez go, that’s a massive hole, that.”

It’s likely that a majority of City fans are actually in agreement with the Manchester United legend.

It should be a non-negotiable to keep Kyle Walker at the Etihad Stadium

Gary Neville makes a fair point as Manchester City would find it next to impossible to find a replacement for Kyle Walker.

In a lion’s share of the Premier League games, the English juggernaut could simply start either Manuel Akanji or John Stones and not feel the veteran’s absence whatsoever.

But against elite opposition in the league, counter-attacking teams and elite wingers in the Champions League, Walker’s presence is not only key but simply cannot be replicated by any full-back in world football.

Since making his way to the Etihad Stadium, Kyle Walker has cemented his reputation as one of the greatest 1v1 full-backs of all time, as his rare athleticism and reading of danger makes him every world-class wide player and transition-based side’s ultimate kryptonite.
