Michail Antonio has reiterated his claim that he’d be able to score 30 goals in a season playing for Manchester City.
A few months ago, the West Ham United striker said on the Filthy Fellas podcast that he could score 30 goals if he was playing in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Now though, the Jamaican has spoken out about his previous comments and shared some extra insight into why he thinks that he could reach such significant goal numbers for City.
Antonio addresses City goal comments

Speaking on a recent edition of The Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio had this to say when asked if he still stands by his previous claim.
He said: “Why I stand by it is because Man City have a lot of the ball, they create a lot of chances for the striker and it’s not just the striker who gets goals, it’s the wingers as well.
“Think about it, [Raheem] Sterling was there getting 20 goals a season, [Leroy] Sane got 20 goals a season there.
“The amount of opportunities that I will get which will help me accumulate 30 goals and that’s why I stand by it.
“I’m not saying I’m a prolific finisher, I’m not saying that, I know what I’m like, but it’s the amount of opportunities I will get that will give me the opportunity to get 30 goals.”

West Ham signed the striker back in 2015 from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth around £7m.
Since then, the centre-forward has gone on to make 278 senior appearances for the east London club in all competitions, scoring 76 goals in the process, the latest of which coming during their recent 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League.
Bearing in mind how City had more shot-creating actions (1099) and goal-creating actions (168) than any other side in the Premier League last season, this backs up Antonio’s point about them being particularly strong when it comes to creating and setting up goalscoring opportunities.
However, with the 33-year-old only managing to rack up shooting accuracy percentage of 33.3% in the Premier League last season, which was lower than Erling Haaland’s percentage of 45.7%, this doesn’t put him in a good light in terms of potentially being able to score a similar amount of goals for City that the Norwegian did last term.
