Patrick Kluivert has claimed that Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world right now.

The Manchester City striker could end his debut season with the club having won the treble if they manage to beat Inter Milan in tonight’s Champions League final.

With the 22-year-old playing a massive part in the success that Pep Guardiola’s side have already had this term as well as getting them to this evening’s final, one former player, who scored his fair share of goals throughout his career, has shared some heavy praise for the City star.

Kluivert says he’s been blown away by Haaland

Speaking to Sky Sports (via Football Daily), Kluivert had this to say about Haaland.

He said: “I think that if you see what he does in his first season in Manchester City, I don’t know how many hat-tricks he had, in the first six games he had fix hat-tricks.

I think this guy is unreal. The way he moves on the pitch is like a predator, he scores goals for fun. In what way also question mark because he makes the craziest move to make the goal.

“For Manchester City it’s really important to score the goals. He’s an amazing player, an amazing striker. One of the best for sure, if not the best.”

In 52 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, the Norwegian has found the net 52 times in total, with 36 of them coming in the Premier League.

Having won the Golden Boot, Haaland also broke the record for the number of goals scored by one player in a single league campaign.

This shows how comfortable the centre-forward is in terms of playing and scoring consistently in the top-flight of English football.

With the striker now having the chance to add to his goal tally for the season this evening and potentially win his and City’s first Champions League title, if he were to do that, this would confirm his status as a club hero and make it one of the best debut seasons any player has ever had.
