Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Bernardo Silva is a top transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
After being linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, the midfielder stayed at the club and has since gone on to win the treble.
With his sixth season now completed, another top European side have reportedly been linked with a move for the City star – Paris Saint-Germain.
Following this news, one transfer expert has shared some behind-the-scenes details on the matter.
Romano discusses PSG’s interest in Silva.
Speaking on a recent edition of The Here We Go Podcast, Romano said this about Silva and the interest in him from PSG and one figure at the French club, in particular.
He said: “It’s still an open situation for Bernardo Silva.
“Let me mention one name, Luis Campos, the advisor of Paris Saint-Germain, is the man who created, on the football point of view, Bernardo Silva.
“Luis Campos signed Bernardo Silva at Monaco. If Bernardo Silva is today a Champions League winner and one of the best players in the world, it’s also thanks to Luis Campos signing when he was very young at Monaco, so there’s a special connection between Campos and Bernardo Silva.
“To sign the player you have to pay important money and so this is the point, Manchester City are not doing any discount.
“He’s a top target for PSG, for Luis Campos he’s a top target, but this is not going to be an easy or fast deal because of Manchester City’s position so it’s not an easy negotiation.”

Since joining City back in 2017 for a fee of £43m, the Portuguese international has made 306 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 55 goals and providing 59 assists along the way.
Having featured in all but six of City’s matches this season, this showcases how significant Silva is for Guardiola and the team.

He also showed his importance in the recent Champions League final against Inter Milan and it was the 28-year-old’s deflected cross that led to Rodri’s winning goal.
Therefore, this makes it easy to see why Romano said the club will only accept a significant amount of money for the midfielder from PSG this summer.
In our view, City should only consider selling Silva this summer if the player wants to leave and a club comes up with a transfer offer they feel is suitable.
