Tim Sherwood has claimed that Man City will find the FA Cup final harder than the Champions League final.
Having brought an end to their latest Premier League title-winning season, Pep Guardiola’s side are set to take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
The weekend after that will see the Citizens travel to Istanbul to face off against Inter Milan to try and win their first Champions League title.
Looking ahead to these two big finals, one pundit has shared his thoughts on how City could fare in them and which one will give them the biggest challenge.
Sherwood assesses FA Cup and Champions League finals

Speaking on a recent Premier League Productions show via Optus Sport, Sherwood said this on the matter.
He said: “I think the toughest game will be the FA Cup final against United.
“They’re a group of players and a group of fans that don’t want their neighbours to do the treble like they did in 1999 so [that’s] extra motivation. I think that’ll be the more difficult game.
“I think they’ve got more quality than Inter Milan and I think the Inter Milan game will be, for me, the game where they win the treble.”
In terms of the FA Cup final, City will go into the game with full knowledge of their opponents having played them twice in the league, winning one and losing the other.
Then for the Champions League, this will be a different ball game for Guardiola’s side as they’re coming up against a side they have never played before competitively.
Regardless, having swept aside Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to get to the final, the City players will have the confidence they can deliver when it matters the most and see off the Italian side.
Also, if they manage to pick up the FA Cup beforehand, this will surely add to their confidence levels and give them some good momentum heading into the final in Istanbul.
Moving forward, if the manager and his coaching staff have done their research on United and Inter and end up having a full squad of fit and firing players at their disposal, they will have a great chance of lifting both trophies and ending this season on the highest of highs.
