Tim Sherwood believes Manchester City have the best player in the Premier League and it isn’t Erling Haaland.
Manchester City have resumed their fantastic form after a brief blip with the 1-1 draw with Chelsea just over a week ago.
Since then, Pep Guadiola’s side have picked up two hard-fought 1-0 victories over Brentford and Bournemouth and smashed Luton 6-2 in the FA Cup.
Erling Haaland has been central to that, scoring the winner against the Bees and blasting in five on Tuesday night.
The Norwegian sensation now has a remarkable 27 goals for the season so far and is the only City player ever to score five times in two different games.
Yet, Tim Sherwood reckons someone is even outperforming him to be the best player in the country.

Tim Sherwood names the best player in the Premier League
Sherwood believes Phil Foden is currently the best player in the Premier League and wants to see him start in midfield for England.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Alan Brazil said: “I think the other example of patience as well, showing you’ve got to trust Pep is Foden.
“There were times when you were thinking, why is he not playing him regularly and Pep would leave him out, leave him out.
“And then suddenly, look at the way Foden’s playing now. Magnificent.”
Sherwood then cut in to praise Foden: “Well, he’s probably the best player in the Premier League at the moment.
“He is another Englishman, which is not obviously good news for you Al, but good news for me and the rest of the nation who want England to do well.
“For me, Grealish on the left-hand side, Foden, Bellingham either side of Rice, incredible. I mean he has to play in the middle of the pitch.
“He wants to play there, he’s said it, Pep’s even said it’s his best position.”
Phil Foden must start for England
It’s high praise but it’s certainly deserved for Foden, who is enjoying the best season of his career in goals, playing time and performances.
The 23-year-old’s winner against Bournemouth was his 26th goal contribution of the season, equaling his best-ever tally with a significant amount of football left to smash past it.
While Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne – who is rivalling him for the best player crown – were injured, it was Foden who kept City ticking.
The ‘Stockport Iniesta’ has flourished when given more opportunities in a central position and that’s exactly where he must play for England.
As Sherwood says, a midfield trio of Foden, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice would be the envy of all nations and could secure a long-awaited tournament triumph.
