Manchester City No.11 Jeremy Doku has now admitted that he prefers to play on the left wing.
The 21-year-old made the revelation when speaking to RTBF.
So, what did Jeremy Doku say? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, Pep Guardiola has used the Belgian on both flanks since signing him from Rennes in a £55.5m deal in August.
Doku has made three appearances on the right and four on the left – according to Transfermarkt.
Now – however – the Belgium international has admitted that he prefers to operate on the left.
Doku said: “To be honest, I feel better about the left flank, I feel like I’m more unpredictable playing on that side.”

That does not surprise us.
Doku has scored his two goals for Manchester City so far when cutting inside from the left flank onto his stronger right foot, netting in a 3-1 win over West Ham while also scoring in the 3-1 victory against RB Leipzig.
Contrastingly, his left foot is not as strong, meaning opponents are happier to let him cut inside when playing on the right wing.
Manchester City have a dangerous weapon in Jeremy Doku
We believe Doku should be used primarily on the left by Guardiola, although his immense talent means he is capable of playing anywhere across the frontline.
Guardiola obviously loves to mix things up and catch opponents off guard sometimes. For example, the Spaniard used Bernardo Silva at left-back against Arsenal last season, which Mikel Arteta admitted he was shocked by.

Therefore, as a result of his remarkable dribbling skills and rapid pace, it wouldn’t even surprise us if Guardiola felt he could use his No.11 centrally or as a wing-back depending on the opponent.
At the age of 21, and with the Spaniard coaching him daily, the sky really is the limit for Doku – regardless of what position he is deployed in.
