Manchester City will have their work cut out this season to win a fifth straight Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola‘s side have started well enough in the league, taking 14 points from a possible 18.
Manchester City have drawn their last two games in the competition, against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium and then Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Those were always going to be two difficult games, but City remain in a good position at the moment.
Most of the talk regarding the title race has been about City and Arsenal, who have gone head-to-head in the last two seasons.
But right now, it’s Liverpool who are top of the league after a great start under new manager Arne Slot.
TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has now given his thoughts about the title race after the Reds’ solid start.
Tony Cascarino still backs Manchester City to win the Premier League title

The title race this season could well be one of the best ever.
Arsenal have made big strides under Mikel Arteta over the last two years and many feel it could be their time in 2024/25.
But City have been there and got the T-shirt many times before. Pundit Paul Merson even feels City are still favourites over the Gunners.
Guardiola is possibly the best manager of all-time, and his side will be up there once again.
Liverpool have not really been spoken about all that much in terms of the title race, mainly because they’ve now got Arne Slot at the helm after bidding farewell to Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are top on 15 points right now, one ahead of City and Arsenal.
Cascarino has liked what he’s been from them. However, he still reckons City are the side to beat.
He said on talkSPORT yesterday: “Let’s get it right, Liverpool were in the title race last season! It only fell apart at the end.
“Can they get one step further than last year? I still think City are the team to beat. I always will do. Because they are the team that turn up in February, March, April, and produce the goods to get them over the line.
“Can Liverpool do that, can Arsenal do that, can even Chelsea get in the mix?”

Liverpool have looked fairly impressive at times this season, although they did lose to Nottingham Forest at home which was a shock, and they did not play well against Wolves at the weekend.
But just two goals conceded for them so far is a clear sign that they are to be taken seriously.
Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Mo Salah are all top players and their midfield is also strong, with Ryan Gravenberch looking like he has now properly settled.
Quite possibly, this could be the hardest season for City to win the Premier League title for quite some time.
Arsenal came close last term, but City just about got the job done in the end.
City fans will just hope that Pep is able to find a way to cover Rodri’s absence, and there will also be many fingers crossed that Erling Haaland is able to stay fit for the whole campaign.
