Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker appeared close to an argument before John Stones intervened, as Manchester City recorded a 3-0 win over Urawa Red Diamonds.

That is according to the Manchester Evening News.

So, what happened between Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva? Let’s take a look…

What happened between Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva

Well, it is said that the England international and the Portugal international became involved in an animated discussion inside the tunnel as Manchester City emerged for the second half.

The Manchester Evening News state that Walker and Silva’s conversation almost boiled over into a full disagreement before Stones entered the conversation, and the situation calmed.

Rodri and Mateo Kovacic were also seen to be deep in conversation as Pep Guardiola’s side analysed what was a fairly subdued first half, in which an own goal from Marius Høibråten was all that separated the teams.

Whatever was said amongst the squad certainly did the trick – however – as Manchester City scored within seven second half minutes to make it 2-0.

Silva then wrapped up the win with a third goal in the 59th minute – before praising Walker after the game.

No issues at Manchester City

In our view, it is great to see such passionate conversations between the Manchester City players – being able to address each other honestly and openly is the backbone of any great side.

You may recall Kevin De Bruyne screaming at Guardiola to be quiet during last season’s UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, something the Spaniard admitted he loved.

That pretty much sums it up – no elite manager wants a quiet group of yes men. It’s important to challenge and push each other at this level of football, to say the least.

Hopefully, the Manchester City players can push each other towards what would be a first ever FIFA Club World Cup for the Citizens with victory over Fluminense on Friday.
