Fabrizio Romano has shared a fresh update regarding the transfer battle between Manchester City and Arsenal to sign
Earlier this week, it was reported that after Arsenal had seen their second bid, worth up to £90m, rejected for the midfielder by West Ham United, City were looking to make their own move for him.
Now though, some extra behind-the-scenes details have come to light concerning what the next step of this particular transfer saga could be.
Romano shares latest Rice update

In a recent Twitter post, Romano said this on the matter.
He said: “Arsenal have confirmed to West Ham their plan to submit one more bid for Declan Rice — after £75m plus £15m rejected. #AFC.
“Understand Manchester City are also preparing their official bid — plan has not changed. #MCFC Structure of deal/payment terms, key for West Ham.”
During his time at the east London club, the 24-year-old has made 245 senior appearances across all competitions, finding the net 15 times and providing 13 assists in the process.
After helping keep David Moyes’ side in the Premier League last season, the England international lifted the Europa Conference as West Ham’s captain after they had beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the final.

Rice has already caught the attention of Pep Guardiola, who would surely be the one pushing for City to sign the midfielder, as he described him as an “exceptional” player last month.
Bearing in mind how Arsenal spent the majority of the previous Premier League campaign at the top of the table, only to drop off in the crucial stages of the season which then led to City winning the title, it’s easy to see why they are looking to strengthen their squad with Rice so they can have a better shot at winning the league next time around.
In our view, given the Gunners’ clear eagerness to sign the Hammers star, we feel that if City want him, this is one deal that the club will have to be ruthless in if they want to be the ones with Rice’s signature.
