Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has shared a post on his Instagram page showing him training alongside a Manchester United player.
The 23-year-old ended his latest season with the Citizens by lifting his fifth Premier League trophy, his second FA Cup and first Champions League.
With City’s pre-season schedule set to get underway in the coming days, the Englishman has been getting some early work in on the training pitch alongside one of City’s main rivals’ star player.
Foden trains with Man United star
In a recent Instagram post, Foden revealed that he has spent some time training alongside Marcus Rashford, as the duo prepare to take on their next campaigns.
The post contained multiple images of the duo on a training pitch together getting ready for the new season.
In the caption to this post, Foden said: “Working hard @marcusrashford It’s all love until the season starts.”
Having played over 1000 minutes more than the City star last season in the Premier League, Rashford scored 17 goals compared to Foden’s 11 but delivered fewer assists (5) than the 23-year-old (6).
Even though the treble winner recognises the rivalry between the two clubs during the season, it’s nice to see him getting along with the United star as they both prepare to have as successful season with their respective sides.
However, when the next league campaign kicks off, it’d be safe to presume that Foden and the rest of his City teammates will only be thinking about winning as many games as they can and regaining their title.
