Manchester City are a fairly big team these days and there are a number of players in the side capable of scoring headed goals.
Erling Haaland is undoubtedly the biggest threat of all.
The Norwegian has scored quite a few headed goals since his arrival at the club, which was perhaps to be expected given his 6ft 5in frame. That said, he did not get that many with his head at Borussia Dortmund.
But then there are others such as Rodri and Ruben Dias.
Nathan Ake is also very good aerially considering he is not the tallest.
But it looks as though City might just have a new aerial threat on their hands now…
Josko Gvardiol puts on heading masterclass in Man City training
City have now released some footage from a training session last week ahead of the game with Fulham.
Around 6:50, the City defenders are practising their heading.
And there is one man that really stands out – new signing Josko Gvardiol.
A lot has been said about Gvardiol’s ability with the ball at his feet. The Croatian is especially brilliant at playing line-breaking passes.
But it turns out he is actually a pretty big aerial threat, without being massively tall for a defender.
In the footage released by City, Gvardiol scores four headers in a row.
The first is one that goes back across the goal right into the bottom corner. The second is a header on the stretch that he scores with at the near post, again right in the corner.
The third was a relatively simple header down in to the bottom corner at the far post. And the fourth was a seriously impressive diving header, with the ball sailing into the top far corner. It was a brilliant show of athleticism.
The likes of Rodri and Dias can be heard cheering and applauding.
Josko Gvardiol has a great eye for goal
It’s possible that Gvardiol – who Liverpool should have targeted according to Ian Wright – had some headers that did not go in, as this footage from City is chopped up and edited.
But it cannot be denied, the four headed goals from Gvardiol are impressive.
He has definitely got a very good eye for goal when the ball is up in the air.
Of course, there was no marking by opposition players in this video. Crosses were coming in and the players were looking to score as many goals as possible.

But the footage suggests that if Gvardiol can get to the ball in the air in the opposition box, there is a good chance that he will be scoring.
He leaps really well and puts plenty of power in, so it could only be a matter of time before we see him scoring in this manner.
