A video has emerged on social media of what happened at the Etihad Stadium following Manchester City’s victory in the FIFA Club World Cup final.
After seeing off Urawa Red Diamonds in the semi-final of the competition earlier in the week, the Citizens beat Fluminense 4-0 last night to crown themselves as world champions.
Goals from Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden, as well as an own goal from Fluminense defender Nino, saw Pep Guardiola’s side end their successful spell in Saudi Arabia on a high note.
Following this victory, the club made sure the Etihad Stadium took part in the celebrations, which they shared on their official Twitter account last night.

The video shows a large banner that has been erected over the main entrance of the stadium which reads ‘The Best Team In The Land And All The World’ in addition to numerous fireworks being set off from the roof and bright light being shone across it as well.

Bearing in mind how the club have now won five major titles across 2023, it comes as no surprise that they have taken the opportunity to celebrate at the Etihad Stadium even while the players and staff were still in Saudi Arabia collecting their prize.
Now that the serial winners have arrived back in Manchester following their celebrations in the Middle East, their focus will now have shift back to Premier League business as an away clash against Everton at Goodison Park lies just around the corner on Wednesday.
Looking beyond that, hopefully the club can see 2024 be as successful as this year has been for them and the supporters so the Etihad Stadium can have even more celebrations to look forward to.
