When did Vincent Kompany become Burnley manager?
Vincent Kompany took charge of Burnley on June 14 2022 following their relegation from the Premier League.
He transformed the side from the direct football they played under Sean Dyche to a free-flowing, attacking style.
The Clarets dominated the Championship, securing promotion with seven games remaining and beating fierce rivals Blackburn Rovers to clinch the title.
Burnley finished the season with 102 points and just three defeats.
Kompany signed a new contract at Turf Moor until 2028 but things haven’t gone well on the return to the top flight and they will likely be relegated again.
Vincent Kompany Tottenham link
Vincent Kompany performed so well in his debut season as a manager in England that he was strongly linked with the vacant Tottenham job in the summer.
According to The Sun, Spurs made him their No.1 target to replace Antonio Conte but they instead hired Ange Postecoglu.
Vincent Kompany is the new Bayern Munich manager

Kompany endured a terrible first season in Premier League management as Burnley were sent straight back to the Championship with just 24 points after finishing 19th.
However, he has still attracted the interest of Bayern Munich who have made him their new manager.
Thomas Tuchel left his post following the conclusion of the season and Bayern had been turned down by several candidates in a bid to replace him.
That has led to Kompany getting the job and signing a three-year deal at the Allianz Arena until 2027.
On his appointment, Kompany said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of FC Bayern.
“It’s a great honour to be able to work for this club – FC Bayern is an institution in international football.
“As a coach, you have to stand for what you are as a character: I love having the ball, being creative – but we also have to be aggressive and courageous on the pitch.
“I’m now looking forward to the basics: working with the players, building a team. Once the basis is right, success will follow.”
Pep Guardiola helped Kompany get Bayern Munich job

Though Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stated he believes Kompany will manage City one day, he apparently helped him land the post at his former club.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Sky Italia, via the Express: “Pep Guardiola was also helping us with Kompany, he spoke very highly of Vincent as a talented coach.
“He gave us a big helping hand. He had him as captain at City and he also followed him when he was at Burnley.”
Vincent Kompany statue
In honour of his remarkable achievements for City, the club unveiled a statue of Vincent Kompany outside the Etihad Stadium in August 2021.
Kompany said on the statue to City’s website: “I didn’t really expect to be recognised by such a great club in that way.

“My wife is from Manchester, my kids are born in Manchester, and they go back to a place where they can see something that represents what their Dad has achieved and that is something that I can’t describe.
“The first time I saw the statue I couldn’t believe how big it was, but then again, I’m a big boy, so fair enough! And then especially the pose, for me it means a lot.”
Vincent Kompany coat
Vincent Kompany was snapped wearing a striking black coat on the touchline during a match against Everton in December.
The coat is a designer Moose Knuckles Original 3Q Neoshear Jacket and costs an eye-watering £879.

Vincent Kompany goals v Leicester 2019
Kompany scored a fair number of goals for a centre-back and knew when to pop up with absolutely crucial ones, too.
Though Sergio Aguero’s strike vs QPR will be remembered as the best Premier League moment of all time, it wouldn’t have been possible if Kompany hadn’t scored a header to defeat Manchester United two games earlier.
But even that isn’t Kompany’s greatest moment. That came in the title race of 2018/19.
City were facing Leicester City in their final home game of the season. They were neck-and-neck with Liverpool. Failure to win would have all but handed them the title.
The Blues were struggling to find the breakthrough until Kompany picked the ball up from over 30 yards out and smashed into the top corner.
It’s one of the most unbelievable goals you will ever see, made even better by who scored it and what it meant.

Vincent Kompany testimonial
Since he played for City for 10 years, Kompany earned the right to have a testimonial match, which he had in September 2019.
A team of City legends faced off against a Premier League All Stars XI to play out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Martin Petrov and Benjani scored for the Blues with Robbie Keane and Robin van Persie scoring for the All Stars.
The likes of Aguero, David Silva, Joe Hart, Micah Richards, James Milner, Mario Balotelli, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry all played as well.
