Wayne Rooney has revealed why watching Erling Haaland can be frustrating for him.
Haaland has been lauded due to his form this season but it goes without saying that like any player, he is far from flawless.
The Manchester City striker is still 25 and he has yet to reach the prime years of his career.
Rooney believes Haaland can be “unplayable” and he certainly admires the Norwegian goalscorer.

Wayne Rooney reveals he wants Erling Haaland to dominate defenders more
However, Wayne Rooney told Rio Ferdinand Presents’ YouTube channel that he would like Erling Haaland to dominate defenders more.
The former Manchester United marksman believes that due to Haaland being incredibly strong, he has the physicality to become an even bigger nuisance for centre-backs.
Wayne Rooney did name the two-time Premier League winner as one of the centre-forwards he enjoys watching, however, explaining: “I do like watching Haaland but [what] also frustrates me as well…if you watch his movement in the six-yard box, it’s incredible. But you just want a little bit more.”
“I want him to be more commanding. Look at the size of him, physicality, he’s like a beast. He had that little scuffle, didn’t he with [Ben] Godfrey at Everton. I want to see more of that, just dominate the centre-back.”
What Pep Guardiola wants more from Erling Haaland this season
Haaland is likely to take Wayne Rooney’s advice on board, considering the Englishman is one of the best forwards to have ever graced the game.
The Champions League winner was a truly outstanding player and he knows what it takes to be a bona fide success in European football for over a decade.
Pep Guardiola wants more from Haaland this season, both on the pitch and as a leader off the pitch after being named as one of Manchester City’s four captains.
Haaland is becoming a leader at Manchester City and based on how he dominated Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba against Arsenal, it seems like Wayne Rooney could change his mind about him.
