Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to react after Cole Palmer made his first start for the Blues – following a move from Manchester City on transfer deadline day.

Pep Guardiola opted to sell the 21-year-old after Mauricio Pochettino came calling with a £45m bid.

That was despite the England Under-21 international’s superb start to the season, in which he scored against Arsenal in the FA Community Shield, and also against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup win.

So, what have Chelsea fans been saying about Cole Palmer? Let’s take a look…

Chelsea fans impressed by Cole Palmer after £45m move from Manchester City

Well, the 21-year-old has had to be patient since swapping the Etihad Stadium for Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino had only given Palmer three appearances from the bench before handing his No.20 a full Chelsea debut in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Brighton.

It is safe to say that the Manchester-born wonderkid impressed Chelsea fans who watched the Carabao Cup Third Round victory.

One Chelsea supporter admitted that they “love” Palmer after he assisted Nicolas Jackson for the winning goal against the Seagulls.

Another simply called the Manchester City academy graduate a “special player” after he made his full debut for Chelsea.

Two other Chelsea fans decided to name Manchester City when praising Palmer.

One supporter believes Chelsea “robbed Manchester City” by signing the attacker for £45m.

Another fan claimed that the Citizens will live to regret their decision to sell Palmer to Chelsea.

Last but not least, a couple of other Chelsea fans expressed their admiration for Palmer.

One described him as a “baller” and stated that he should start every game in the No.10 role under Pochettino.

Another claimed that Chelsea secured themselves a “ridiculous bargain” in signing Palmer for £45m.

We aren’t quite sure if you can call a player with only five Premier League starts a bargain at £45m after one impressive performance in the Carabao Cup, although it is clear that Chelsea fans are excited by their deadline day addition.
