Micah Richards has dropped a big claim ahead of tomorrow’s big Premier League clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.

After getting beat 1-0 by the north London club away from home in their first Premier League meeting of the season back in October, the two sides are set to face off against each other once again tomorrow afternoon at the Etihad Stadium.

With both teams aiming to win the Premier League title this season, one pundit has dropped a claim regarding what could happen should a certain outcome present itself after tomorrow’s game.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say about tomorrow’s match and what a home defeat could mean for the title race.

He said: “I just feel with Arsenal, do you remember last season when they had that opportunity and they had a few wobbles around this time last season and they could go to Man City, if they won that game it’d put a cat amongst the pigeons and Man City just walked all over them.

“So this, we’re going to see now, is a massive, massive day and if Arsenal can win, they can win the league.”

After the Blues beat the Gunners 4-1 in last season’s meeting between the two sides at the Etihad, City went on to win four of their five remaining league games, finding themselves being crowned Champions with two games left to play in the campaign.

If Arsenal were to do the double over Pep Guardiola’s side and walk away with three points tomorrow, this would put them four points ahead of the Treble winners with nine games left to play.

Therefore, even though Liverpool are also in the title race, it’s easy to see why Richards thinks an away win tomorrow could be the spark that pushes Arsenal to the Premier League trophy.

Regardless of Richards’ comments, City know what it takes to secure the results they need in important stages of the season and will undoubtedly be approaching this latest game with the same mindset and determination to win.
