Gary Lineker also claimed that City’s opponents across the Premier League would have been petrified to have witnessed the 23-year-old back among the goals.

Dean Ashton highlighted the Norwegian striker’s top mentality to have bounced back from his miss against Brentford to get on the scoresheet twice against Sean Dyche’s side.

Now, Alan Shearer has lauded the finishing on display from Erling Haaland against Everton.

“I loved the first one as well, I mean, it was just a head down, smash it, right foot and the power, I mean, [Jordan] Pickford just had no chance. Before he could even react, it was in the back of the net”, he said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

“I also, I loved the second one.”

“He still had a bit to do to be fair, he barged [Jarrad] Branthwaite off and finished, sort of came around him, didn’t he with his left foot and bent it into the corner. It was brilliant. What a player.”

Erling Haaland has so many different types of finishes in his locker

As Alan Shearer explained, the finishing from Erling Haaland for both of his strikes against Everton was just top-drawer and far from straightforward.

While some may analyse the types of goals Halaand scores lazily by assuming that they are all just tap-ins, he proved against the Toffees that he has different types of finishes in his locker.

If asked to slot the ball into the back of the net with power, Haaland can do so, as evidenced by his opener against Everton.

But if precise placement is the requirement from a chance, Erling Haaland’s second goal showcases the class in his game that allows him to do so at will.

Being able to execute a wide array of finishes is the true mark of a world-class striker, as Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko also showcased during their spells at Manchester City.

Erling Haaland arguably has a case for being the best of the bunch and one of the primary reasons why that is the case is that he too can deliver from in front of goal in multiple ways as they did.
