Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted saying something about Manchester City star Erling Haaland during the recent Globe Soccer Awards ceremony.

Having travelled to the UAE to take part in some warm weather training in Abu Dhabi, the City squad found themselves in Dubai on Friday to take part in the recent Globe Soccer Awards, which saw the Manchester club, their players and manager win some accolades.

One player who found himself picking up a rather prestigious award on the night was Haaland, who was named as the Best Men’s Player of 2023.

As the nominees for this award were being read out, one of which was Ronaldo, who was at the ceremony in person among the entire City squad, video footage captured the former Real Madrid star saying something to the camera he was being filmed on about Haaland.

Ronaldo makes Haaland comments at Globe Soccer Awards

In the moments leading up to the Best Men’s Player Award being announced, Ronaldo was saying that he thought Haaland deserved to win the accolade, which he ultimately did.

Looking back over the 2022/23 season, which was Haaland’s debut season at City following his move to the club in the 2022 summer transfer window from Borussia Dortmund, the striker scored 52 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.

It was these goals that helped the Manchester club win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

Therefore, it was easy to see why Ronaldo, who scored 14 goals in 16 games for Al-Nassr after he left Manchester United to join the Saudi Arabian side, was convinced that the City start was going to and deserved to win this particular award.

Moving forward, if the Norwegian can continue scoring goals on a regular basis and help his club win more silverware, he could well find himself picking up even more individual awards and becoming as prolific as Ronaldo is and has been throughout the majority of his career.
