What Man City’s Erling Haaland did to the Arsenal fans as he was substituted off in the Community Shield

Manchester City are in action in the FA Community Shield against Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side were enjoyed a good afternoon at Wembley.

Cole Palmer gave City the lead midway through the second-half. But Arsenal equalised right at the death through Leandro Trossard’s wickedly deflected effort.

The England U21 Euros winner came off the bench to score a fantastic goal.

He curled an effort into the top corner, giving Aaron Ramsdale no chance whatsoever.

There have been clear signs of ring rust from City which was to be expected.

Palmer’s goal was a real moment of quality, but there has also been another talking point in the game regarding Erling Haaland.

Just after the hour mark, Haaland was substituted off by Pep Guardiola.

It was not the Norwegian’s finest outing today, and the 23-year-old will no doubt be disappointed he didn’t score.

But he delighted City fans when he gave a brilliant reaction to being booed by the Arsenal fans at Wembley.

Gunners fans jeered in their thousands as he was leaving the field.

But Haaland, completely unfazed, simply held up three fingers.

Clearly, that was a reference to City completing an historic Treble just a couple of months ago.

Brilliant from Haaland

It wasn’t the best day at the office for Haaland.

But bad days at the office will not be too common this season for this world-class striker.

The man is just a lethal goalscorer, and will once again have many chances to score goals this season.

It’s great to see that kind of reaction from him to being booed.

One gets the feeling he absolutely loves that kid of thing.
