Manchester City are now planning to offer Erling Haaland a new contract – and senior figures at the Etihad Stadium have been saying one thing in particular.

It was the Manchester Evening News who revealed that the treble winners are now set to step up contract talks with the Norway international.

So, what have senior figures at Manchester City been saying about Erling Haaland? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the 23-year-old has obviously impressed his employers with his remarkable goalscoring exploits.

However – according to the Manchester Evening News – Haaland has also caught the eye of his bosses by how well he has adapted to life in the dressing room.

It is said that the Norwegian has impressed senior figures at Manchester City by his other contributions to the team off the pitch and how seamlessly he has fit in at the Etihad Stadium.

Not only is Haaland an incredible footballer on the pitch, but by the sounds of it, he is also making a huge impact behind the scenes in other areas at Manchester City.

Haaland seems likely to stay at Manchester City

Interestingly – according to the Daily Mail – discussions over a potential release clause could take place in contract negotiations, with Real Madrid lurking.

While that might concern some Manchester City fans, the Manchester Evening News believe Haaland is very happy at the Etihad Stadium, and there is optimism that an agreement can be reached.

In our view, it is smart of the Citizens to capitalise on the situation while the Manchester City No.9 is so content with life at his father’s old club – football is a funny game, and a lot can change very quickly.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Manchester City attempt to keep their talisman at the Etihad Stadium for longer.
