Manchester City fans have now reacted after the Football Association announced that Tottenham await Pep Guardiola in the FA Cup fourth round.

The news emerged during Monday’s FA Cup draw, which took place before Wigan suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United.

So, what have the Manchester City fans on X (previously known as Twitter) been saying after drawing Tottenham in the FA Cup? Let’s take a look…

Manchester City fans worried as Tottenham await in FA Cup

Well, the treble winners rarely fear any side across Europe.

Guardiola conquered the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan on his way to winning Manchester City a maiden UEFA Champions League last season.

However, both the Spaniard and Manchester City fans have major concerns about Tottenham – who have strangely become something of a bogey side for the Citizens.

Spurs have proven to be a thorn in Manchester City’s side on several occasions across recent years, knocking the Citizens out of the UEFA Champions League across two legs in the 2018/19 Quarter-Final.

Tottenham also claimed a 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, with Guardiola even jokingly admitting that he would simply like to beat Spurs when asked what his ambitions are following last term’s treble.

The Mirror quote the 52-year-old as saying: “Score a goal against Spurs away! It’s why I stay, I want to beat Spurs away.”

Since replacing Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola has lost seven of his 18 clashes against Tottenham – only Chelsea and Liverpool have defeated the Spaniard more with eight wins each.

Therefore, the FA Cup fourth round will surely prove to be a tough test for Manchester City – mainly from a mentality aspect, as clashes against Spurs are bizarrely proving to be a real hex for Europe’s best side.
