City fans are desperate to see Rodri get the ultimate recognition for his sublime year, a culmination of season upon season of excellence. He has been incredible for years and crucial to City’s sustained success.
It shows just how good he has been for club and country that he has a real chance of winning despite his unfancied position.
Thierry Henry believes Rodri should win the reward.
However, it looks like the Spaniard will miss out to Real Madrid’s Champions League-winning winger Vinicius Jr.
Ederson recently drew the ire of City fans for backing his international teammate Vinicius over Rodri to win the prestigious trophy.

Who will win the Gerd Muller trophy in 2024?

Given last season is set in stone, we’re almost certain we know who will be leaving Paris with the Gerd Muller trophy. If you don’t want it spoiled stop reading now.
Despite his remarkable return of 38 goals in just 45 games last season, Erling Haaland was not the top goal scorer across the game.
Instead, the Norwegian sensation was beaten to the punch by Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, who scored a massive 44 goals in 45 games.
Fittingly, the Muller trophy will be heading to Munich, where the legendary striker made his name.
