After the amount of football Rodri has played for Manchester City and Spain for the past few years, he deserved an extended summer break.
Especially in the summer of 2024 where the City midfielder was the fulcrum of Luis de la Fuente’s side at the European Championship after yet another taxing season at club level.
However, Pep Guardiola will be hoping Rodri is fit and ready to start for him as soon as possible.
The £62.5 million man’s presence will certainly be key at the start of the 2024/2025 Premier League campaign as Manchester City face Chelsea, promoted side Ipswich Town, West Ham United, Brentford and Arsenal in their first five games.
The 27-year-old must be well-rested, both mentally and physically after taking time off from pre-season to put his feet up.

Likely date for Rodri to return to Man City training revealed
Pep Guardiola will be hoping his decision to give Rodri a breather pays off.
Manchester City are set to enter yet another gruelling campaign of football where the Spaniard’s importance will remain paramount.
Especially considering as things stand, City are yet to sign another midfielder to give the Euro 2024 winner a break during the upcoming season; which means he could be set to be one of his side’s most-played stars during the 2024/2025 campaign.
A report by Manchester Evening News has claimed that Rodri is expected to return to Manchester City training on Wednesday.
The likes of Phil Foden, John Stones and Kyle Walker made their respective returns on Monday after reaching the Euro 2024 final with England.
Ideal for Pep Guardiola if Rodri is fit to start against Chelsea
The ideal scenario for Pep Guardiola would be for Rodri to be ready to start in Manchester City’s opening league game against Chelsea.
Otherwise, City will head to Stamford Bridge without a recognised holding midfielder in their starting lineup.
Last season, Chelsea caused the Sky Blues plenty of problems on the break and Enzo Maresca could perhaps set his team up to do so even more on Sunday in a team that does not feature Rodri.
Simultaneously, potential dropped points in West London would not be the end of the world for this City side, especially if it means their midfield maestro is given more time to get to full fitness.
