Rodri is likely to travel with Manchester City’s matchday squad as they take on AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

The Spanish international accompanied City’s travelling squad to Wembley Stadium as they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.

Pep Guardiola confirmed Rodri is getting “much better” as he continues to recover from the ACL injury he suffered against Arsenal earlier this season.

Rodri is arguably Manchester City’s most important player but even so, Pep Guardiola has not rushed him back on the pitch despite his side’s struggles this season.

Rodri set to be named in Man City’s squad against Bournemouth

With two Premier League games left for City to secure Champions League qualification, Rodri will be hoping that they get over the line against Bournemouth.

The last time both sides met, Andoni Iraola’s side won 2-1 but this time around, the significance of the contest also stems from the fact that Kevin De Bruyne will play his final game at the Etihad Stadium.

The good news for Manchester City supporters ahead of their side’s clash against Bournemouth is that Rodri is set to be named in the squad, according to Diario AS.

Pep Guardiola likened Rodri to Lionel Messi and the Catalan tactician will be delighted that one of his main men is fit once again, as he intends to include him in the squad after weeks of training.

Will Rodri start against Bournemouth?

However, City fans will be curious to know if Guardiola takes the bold decision of starting the European Championship winner.

This season, Rodri has missed as many as 50 games.
