Manchester City are considering a move for striker Kyogo Furuhashi but who exactly is he?
After being deathly quiet for weeks and months, Manchester City’s transfer window has burst into life this week.
June and July were mostly non-eventful, with the expected arrival of Savinho the only signing and Julian Alvarez’s departure for Atletico Madrid the one major departure.
But now things are getting exciting as City are closing in on bringing Ilkay Gundogan back to the club on a sensational free transfer just a year after he left for Barcelona.
Additioanlly, City may look for a new striker in order to replace Alvarez and provide backup to Erling Haaland.

How old is Kyogo Furuhashi?
Kyogo Furuhashi was born on January 20, 1995, in Okoma, Nara, Japan. As of August 2024, he is 29 years old.

Kyogo is just 5’7″ (170cm) tall and weighs a mere 63kg, according to TNT Sports. His slight stature lends him a lightning burst of pace.

Kyogo to Man City transfer rumours
According to The Athletic, Kyogo is on a two-man shortlist as City consider how to replace Alvarez.
It’s reported City want a forward who would be comfortable with playing a squad role as back-up to Haaland and the rest of City’s incredible forwards.
Their search has been narrowed down to Kyogo and another forward, who is said to be younger than the 29-year-old.
It’s added that personal terms aren’t expected to be a problem should City decide to make a move but all focus first is on bringing Ilkay Gundogan back to the club.
