‘Will create a problem’: Pundit says Pep Guardiola is facing a big headache at Man City

Simon Jordan has claimed that Pep Guardiola could be facing a problem at Manchester City in the future regarding Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

With the 32-year-old now facing the next four months out of action after having surgery to fix a hamstring problem, the Englishman excelled in a midfield role during City’s recent 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

This has since led to one pundit making a claim about the two players and what could be facing Guardiola further down the road.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan had this to say about Foden and what his form could mean for City and Guardiola going forward.

He said: “It will create a problem further down the line because what are you going to do if Phil Foden pulls up trees for four months and Kevin De Bruyne walks back in the side?

“You’re going to have a problem there. And if he doesn’t walk back in the side you might have a problem there too. But those are problems for Pep Guardiola to manage, that’s the job he has to deal with.”

Having made seven key passes in the game on Saturday night, more than any other player on the pitch, this shows how creative the 23-year-old can be whilst playing in midfield.

Bearing in mind how De Bruyne made more key passes (96) than any other City player in the league last season, it’s easy to see why Jordan thinks Guardiola may have a potential problem on his hands in terms of getting both players in midfield together.

Moving forward, if Foden does make the most of his time playing in midfield and can continue to deliver performances like he did last weekend, this will be the only thing that Guardiola will be concerned with for the time being in addition to winning games.
