But according to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, the answer is Jeremy Doku when it comes to the most skilful player in the English top-flight.
Gabriel said on Sky Sports, “Because when watching, it’s like [makes sounds to indicate he beats players at will].”
Saliba added, “[Jeremy] Doku because if you watch the game, I think he’s the best one against one.”
Unlike Gabriel, who left Lille to sign for Arsenal in 2020, the same year Jeremy Doku joined Rennes, William Saliba was on loan at Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille and played against him in Ligue 1 as well.
As a result, another reason why Saliba might have named Doku is due to having faced him since his time in France.
Fair play to Jeremy Doku
The fact that Jeremy Doku has managed to earn such a reputation amongst arguably the Premier League’s two most in-form centre-backs, Gabriel and William Saliba is impressive.
It is clear to see that while Doku is far from being the finished article, fellow players like the Arsenal pairing are taking note of his talent.
Once the Belgian further polishes his game, he might torment defenders of Saliba and Gabriel’s ilk in the future with his quick feet.
