Bayern Munich are reportedly now open to listening to offers for reported Manchester City transfer target Joshua Kimmich.

Back in May, it was reported that the Citizens were interested in signing the midfielder as a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who has since joined Barcelona as a free agent.

However, Fabrizio Romano claimed in May that the German club see the 28-year-old as untouchable and have no intention of letting him leave this summer.

Despite that, a fresh update has emerged suggesting the Bundesliga side have changed their stance on the player.

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Georg Holzner said this on the matter.

He said: “According to @kicker information, in addition to Leon #Goretzka Joshua #Kimmich should no longer be untouchable and no longer unsellable at #fcbayern.

“Should a high offer for Kimmich arrive in Munich, the Bayern bosses would at least be willing to talk.”

During his time at Bayern, Kimmich has made 347 appearances across all competitions, scoring 40 goals and delivering 94 assists along the way.

With 36 of those games coming under the management of Pep Guardiola, this shows that the German international has an idea of what it takes to play under the Spaniard and why he could be a good fit in this City side, especially now that Gundogan has left.

To highlight how impressive the 28-year-old was last season in the Bundesliga, he ended the campaign with more key passes (84), progressive passes (315) and shot-creating actions (142) than any other player in Thomas Tuchel’s side as well as having the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (119) at the club.

This makes us feel that while it’s strange that the German club have apparently changed their stance on potentially selling their star midfielder, this should spring City into action and launch a move to sign him.
