Alessandro Bastoni has said that he profiles like a Pep Guardiola centre-back, after reports suggesting that Manchester City are keen on getting a transfer over the line for him.
As relayed by Football Italia, it was reported in April that the Sky Blues were keen on signing him for £48 million from Inter Milan.
Additionally, it was also claimed that Pep Guardiola rated Alessandro Bastoni and his profile, who has now admitted that he would suit the Manchester City way as well.

With the ever-reliable journalist, Jack Gaughan also having previously reported that the double winners are ready to sell Aymeric Laporte, a left-sided centre-back may be a transfer priority for the club in the summer.
Despite having four centre-backs at their disposal already, City play with all of them, if not at least three in every single game, which makes it necessary to bolster that position when needed.
Now, Alessandro Bastoni has come out and admitted that he is a Pep Guardiola player, which should excite Manchester City.

“Yes, with my characteristics perhaps I reflect Guardiola’s game, but at the moment I am more ‘Inzaghiano’ than ever. I’m happy with what we’ve shown, I’m not interested in proving anything other than to my coach, my teammates and my fans.”
Alessandro Bastoni would be a cracking Aymeric Laporte replacement
While Alessandro Bastoni is not on Aymeric Laporte’s level yet, he has the potential do that at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.
The Italian international is a brilliant reader of the game and excellent on the ball and aside from that, he is used to playing on the left of a back three, as he done several times under Simone Inzaghi at Inter.
As a result, Bastoni would slot right into the same position at City in the absence of Ake and after Laporte’s potential exit, if a move comes to fruition.
