Sergio Gomez, Taylor Harwood-Bellis & James Trafford named in U-21 Euros Team of the Tournament
James Trafford, branded as ‘outstanding’ by England U-21 boss Lee Carsley stole the headlines in the final against Spain by making an incredible double-save, including a penalty in the dying embers of the game and has been previously backed to become a ‘world-class’ goalkeeper by Cole Palmer (via MEN) from day one.
As for Taylor Harwood-Bellis, he was a rock at the back for the English, who won the tournament while Sergio Gomez was the joint top-goalscorer, despite having to take home a silver medal.

Now, Sergio Gomez, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and James Trafford have been recognised for their exploits at the U-21 Euros by being named in the Team of the Tournament.
The trio were named alongside some of the world’s best young players like Levi Colwill, Antonio Blanco and Curtis Jones to name a few.
Manchester City should be beaming with pride
The fact that James Trafford, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Sergio Gomez performed at the U-21 Euros to the extent of being a part of the Team of the Tournament should fill Manchester City with immense pride.
Especially in Harwood-Bellis and Trafford’s cases, who have become household names, after coming through the ranks at City’s academy.
As for Gomez, despite having endured a tough debut season at the Etihad Stadium, it speaks volumes of the club’s brilliant youth scouting that they were able to sign such a highly-rated young talent.
One would back even more of the Sky Blues’ young guns to make the cut as a part of such ensembles in the future, with the amount of exceptional youth talent at their disposal.
