Former Manchester City defender Jeremie Frimpong has said that it would be great if he could join the club again.
After working his way through City’s youth ranks, the right-back left in 2019 to join Celtic before making a move to his current club Bayer Leverkusen in the 2021 January transfer window.
Now though, the player has opened the door over a potential return to the Etihad Stadium.
Frimpong discusses potential City return

Speaking in a recent interview with Marca, Frimpong had this to say when asked about the possibility of him making a return to City one day in the future.
He said: “It would be great, but I don’t know. They have just won the Champions League and are the best team in the world. In the future we will see.”
During his time at the Manchester club, the 22-year-old made 68 youth appearances in all competitions, chipping in with three goals and seven assists in the process.
Having now made 96 appearances for his current club, the Dutchman has scored 12 goals and supplied 20 assists, highlighting his attacking talent.

Last season saw the defender score eight goals and deliver seven assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances, featuring in the right-back and right-midfield positions.
Interestingly, the full-back has been linked with a return to Manchester, but with City’s rivals, as they were mentioned with a £34m move for Frimpong earlier in June.
Looking ahead to the future, even though the treble winners have managed to keep hold of Kyle Walker this summer and recently seen Rico Lewis sign a new long-term deal, it’ll be interesting if a potential move for Frimpong crops up at any point in the future.
