‘Wrong’… Gary Neville can’t believe what he’s been hearing about Man City this week

Gary Neville has said that he doesn’t believe Manchester City play boring football, despite seeing a social media post from someone with the opposite opinion.

On Tuesday, Pep Guardiola’s side beat Copenhagen 3-1 in the first leg of their round of 16 matches in the Champions League.

With the Blues having won all of their Champions League games so far this season, the topic of what sort of entertainment value comes from watching them play in Europe has arisen, with one pundit weighing in on the matter.

Speaking in a recent edition of Stick To Football, Neville had this to say on the matter.

He said: “I didn’t switch City on on Tuesday night. I just felt a bit bored.

“I saw a post from a Liverpool fan who said he watched every one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man United games in the Champions League because there was that feeling there was going to be excitement one way or the other, they were either going to lose or they would win and the game would be exciting.

“He just can’t watch City and it felt like they had ruined it a bit and it’s a bit boring.

“I think to call City boring would be wrong, the football they play is outstanding, and I actually thought they were boring but since [Erling] Haaland has gone I think they are a little bit more imperfect and I like them a lot more with the four big defenders and Haaland up-front.”

Having played seven Champions League games in this latest campaign, the Citizens have scored three goals in each of them, resulting in 21 goals scored in total with eight being conceded.

In fact, no other club in the competition has racked up more shots at goal (156) and shots on target (61) than City.

So while certain non-City fans could be getting bored with seeing Guardiola’s side win more often than not, anyone who watches their game should expect to see goals.
