John Obi Mikel has told Victor Boniface that in his opinion, a club like Manchester City could try to sign him in the near future.
The retired midfielder discussed how City play “good football” during the latest episode of The Obi One Podcast, which is why a technically gifted marksman like Boniface would fit their style of play.
Of course, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez lead the line for Manchester City at present.
John Obi Mikel thinks Manchester City could try to sign Victor Boniface
The 23-year-old is having a sensational season at Bayer Leverkusen, with 16 goals and eight assists to his name in all competitions.
Boniface has played a major role in the German side topping the Bundesliga, as they currently have a four-point advantage over Bayern Munich, albeit having played an extra game.
As a buzz continues to be generated around Victor Boniface, John Obi Mikel has said that he could see Manchester City making a move for him in two or three years.

“You have the quality to play in the Premier League. You are strong, you are quick, you are technically very good. When I watch other strikers, I think when I watch you and Victor [Osimhen] both of you can score goals, both of you have the physicality and are very quick but I think one thing which you have a bit more than him, you are very good on the ball. Victor is good on the ball as well but you are technically very good”, he said on The Obi One Podcast.
“When I look at you and watch you, you still have a lot of room to improve but when you improve you can be a complete striker.”
“I think in the Premier League, a club like an Arsenal or a Man City, where they play good football. You never know, another two or three years in Germany and you never know, a Man City or an Arsenal could come knocking on the door.”
A move for Victor Boniface would be hugely dependent on certain exits
John Obi Mikel could well be proven right about Victor Boniface if both Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez leave Manchester City in the next few years.
In fact, if even either one of them decides to bid farewell to the Etihad Stadium in a couple of seasons, one can foresee City considering a move for Boniface.
However, if Haaland and Alvarez continue to share the stage in sky blue, the treble-winners would have no reason to target his signature.
But stylistically, Victor Boniface certainly suits how Manchester City play football, considering he looks like the complete package as far as strikers go.
Blessed with an eye for goal, technical ability and athleticism, if Boniface continues to grow from strength to strength, most top teams will be looking to secure his services one day.
