Oscar Bobb has been speaking about what Pep Guardiola and the coaches at Manchester City tell him – and stated he’s been told to take tips from Phil Foden when it comes to playing between the lines.
Bobb is one of the most exciting young players on the books at City at the moment.
The Norwegian got promoted to the first-team squad ahead of the new season.
There was loan interest in Bobb in the summer, but City officials decided they did not want him heading out.
He’s made a couple of exciting cameo appearances so far, and fans are looking forward to see what he can offer.
At this stage, it’s all about Bobb integrating, and learning as much as possible.
He needs to be watching the other players closely, and he’s said that Foden is someone he’s been urged to observe…
Oscar Bobb says Man City coaches have urged him to look at Phil Foden’s ability between the lines
Bobb has given an interview with the club about being a part of the City squad.
The youngster is delighted to be given the chance, and hopes to make an impact this season.

At one point, he was asked if he’s been given any tips and advice by Pep and his coaching staff.
He said (via mancity.com): “I think even technically, it’s small details, like my body positioning. How I take my first touch. You see Phil between the lines for example. How he gets his body facing forward straight away when he gets the ball.
“Small things like that which the coaching staff is great at always giving me little tips and helping me improve.”
Foden has become renowned for being one of the best players in the Premier League between the lines.
Peter Crouch said recently that he was the best bar none at taking the ball on the half-turn and driving forwards.
Bobb won’t go far wrong by copying Foden
Bobb should definitely try and study how Foden works between the lines for City.
He really is fantastic at finding the space, and then taking the ball and driving forwards.

Foden does it with such pace and elegance, that it’s then really hard for defenders to stop him.
The ‘technically gifted’ Bobb is a dribbler and ball carrier. So it’s in his best interests to really refine this part of his game.
