Manchester City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, has reportedly been keeping an eye on someone who will be making a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The 59-year-old has been involved in many transfer deals during his tenure at the Manchester club.
Now though, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged on what the next few months could hold for a player who has been touted to join the Citizens in the summer.
Young dynamo set to be a part of City’s preseason squad

A recent report from the Daily Mail had this to say on the matter.
It said: “Savio is expected to go on City’s tour of the United States in July when first-team staff can take a closer look at him but Begiristain’s presence at Girona games will offer them additional insight even before he is wearing the training kit.”
Back in February, it was reported that Savio is set to join the Manchester club in the summer once his current loan spell at Girona comes to an end.
The 20-year-old joined Troyes back in the 2022 summer transfer window but has never featured for the French club as he spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before then joining Girona on a season-long loan last summer.
Savio has been on fire this season
This season has seen the winger make 34 appearances for the Spanish club across La Liga and the Copa del Rey, scoring 10 goals and delivering seven assists along the way.
Throughout his 30 La Liga games, the Brazilian has made more successful take-ons (86) and carries into the penalty area (63) than any other Girona player, as well as racking up more goal-creating actions (19) than any other figure at the club.
Savio also has the second-highest number of key passes (37) made at Girona this season and the joint-second-highest number of shots on target (16).
This shows how much of a dangerous attacking player he has proved himself to be at such a young age in a side that were competing with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona for the title.
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why City are eager to have Savio in their squad for their upcoming preseason tour.
