They say you should never go back, but there are a few former Manchester City players who might just be worth hitting up again in the future.
It isn’t so common in football for players or managers to return to their old clubs.
A lot of the time, there are very good reasons why they leave and clubs like to look forward and go in different directions.
But every now and then, you do get situations where people wind up at their old stomping grounds again, and Manchester City News looks at three players who could potentially return to the Etihad someday…
Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane was a truly exhilarating player to watch when he played for City from 2016 until 2020.
The German winger was the type to get fans out of their chairs with his pace and dribbling, and he formed part of a seriously devastating attacking trio with Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.
Fans were left with heavy hearts when Sane left the club to join Bayern Munich, but in the years since his exit, the relationship between the City fans and the player has been good.
Sane has been back at the Etihad Stadium several times since his exit, and there is certainly still a big respect there from most fans.
It was actually even reported recently that City were interested in re-signing the electric Sane, 27, which is something many supporters would absolutely love to see.
City don’t have huge depth in the wide areas so who knows, perhaps Sane heading back to City at some point should not be ruled out.
Pedro Porro

Porro joined City from Girona in 2019 for around £11 million, but the Spaniard never turned out for City’s first-team.
These days, right-back Porro plays for Tottenham Hotspur after having spells with Real Valladolid and Sporting CPP, and after a bit of an iffy start to life with the north Londoners, is now looking like a really handy player.
Kyle Walker has been a tremendous servant for City but realistically it is now time to be thinking about a long-term replacement for him.
Walker is 33 now and has just recently shown signs of decline.
Porro is someone the Spurs fans feel City made a mistake letting go, and is definitely a player Pep Guardiola should consider bringing back to the Etihad before he moves on from the hot seat.
Douglas Luiz

Like Leroy Sane, Aston Villa midfielder Douglas is another player City have actually been linked with in recent times.
Pep Guardiola never wanted to lose Luiz when he left the club in 2019 to join the Villans for £15 million. But work permit issues prevented Luiz from playing, and so the decision was made to sell.
Luiz has gone on to become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and is currently thriving under Unai Emery at Villa Park.
The Brazilian is a brilliant all-rounder and it would be fantastic to see him back at the Etihad in the near future. Perhaps the notion of him having unfinished business at City could be something for fans to hold on to.
