Manchester City drew 0-0 against Inter Milan in their first Champions League game of the season last night.
After beating Brentford 2-1 in their previous Premier League outing, Pep Guardiola’s side were back in action at the Etihad Stadium last night on European duty.
Despite racking up 22 attempts at goal in total, five of which were on target, and having 60% possession, City were unable to break the deadlock and get their latest Champions League campaign off to a winning start.
In terms of individual performances, one particular player in the starting XI delivered the sort of display that Guardiola will be hoping not to see again this season.

Bernardo Silva failed to have an impact in Man City vs Inter Milan
After replacing Jack Grealish in the 84th minute of City’s win over Brentford last weekend, Bernardo Silva found himself in the starting XI for last night’s draw against Inter.
Before being subbed off for Jeremy Doku in the 80th minute, the midfielder had 52 touches of the ball in total but failed to have much of a significant impact in the game.
For example, from an attacking point of view, the 30-year-old made no key passes, had just one shot at goal which was off target and missed one big chance.
He was also caught offside on one occasion as well as not even attempting one dribble in the game.
Then from a defensive perspective, Silva didn’t make any tackles or interceptions during his time on the pitch.
This performance ultimately earned the £300k-a-week star a rather underwhelming overall match rating of 6.7/10 from SofaScore, making him the lowest-rated City player on the day, highlighting how much he let Guardiola down on this occasion.
Silva had an off day against Inter
Earlier this month, Silva said that he is not happy with the amount of games City will be playing across a range of competitions this season.
If he continues to deliver the sort of performances he did against Inter in midweek, the Portuguese international may not have to worry about playing regularly.
However, with a big game against Arsenal on the horizon, this will be a good opportunity for Silva to get back on form and make a big impact in what will be a significant game for the Citizens.
