It has been reported that Pep Guardiola “does not expect” to sign a new contract at Manchester City.

As Guardiola’s current deal expires in 2025 at the Etihad Stadium, a revelation about his future has been made by ESPN.

Pep Guardiola is not thinking of signing new Manchester City contract

The Catalan boss joined the English side in 2016 and since then, he has kickstarted a dynasty that will be hailed for years to come.

The £378,846-a-week manager even lifted the Champions League last season, leading his side to a historic treble. During his time at the club, Guardiola was widely slated for his failure to win Europe’s elite competition before he finally silenced his critics in June this year.

But as Pep Guardiola only has two years left on his contract at Manchester City, details about his future have emerged.

For starters, it has been claimed that the decorated coach is yet to have made a final decision about his plans at the club.

However, it has been claimed that for now, Guardiola is “leaning towards” leaving the blue side of Manchester as he currently does not envision signing a new deal at the club.

Pep Guardiola is believed to have the opinion that he has stayed longer at Manchester City than he had ever imagined, having managed Barcelona and Bayern Munich for four and three years respectively.

As a result, Guardiola is known to be considering the prospect of taking up international management.

In December, Guillem Balague had claimed that the 52-year-old has always thought of taking a break after his time at City comes to an end and then managing a national team, with the journalist tipping him for the England job.

Considering Pep Guardiola’s success and impact during his time at the Sky Blues, their fans must be hoping that he decides to prolong his spell with the club beyond 2025.
