Manchester City earned a vital three points in the Premier League against Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola would have been delighted with his Manchester City players after their win against Tottenham in the Premier League.
The win for City put them back in the box-seat in the race for fourth place and subsequent qualification for the Champions League.
The 2024/25 campaign has been a real slog on all fronts for Pep and his players, and it has even been claimed that the Man City manager‘s role is actually not completely safe right now.

In reality though, Guardiola has brought so much success to The Etihad over the past eight-and-a-half years, with his incredible trophy haul rendering him almost bulletproof.

The win against Spurs on Wednesday night would have given everyone at The Etihad a huge lift. Whilst the performance wasn’t perfect, it was much more like it.
Erling Haaland stole the headlines with the match-winning goal, but it was another player who stood out for Man City in north London.
Jeremy Doku stood out for Manchester City vs Tottenham
Man City winger Jeremy Doku has often flattered to deceive since moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2023.
However, there is undoubtedly an exceptional player in there somewhere.
On paper, he has all of the attributes needed to succeed at the very highest level of the game, especially in the Premier League, what with his pace and power.
Doku just needs to fine-tune his game, and improve on his decisive actions inside the final third.
The Belgium international’s decision making is questionable at times, but that should improve with more coaching from Pep and the experience that comes with playing more games.
Ian Wright recently suggested that the former Rennes attacker could be so much better if he improved his ability with his left foot.
He showed everyone what he’s capable of with his brilliant performance for Man City against Spurs.

Now he just needs to add more consistency and output to his game.
Jeremy Doku’s outstanding stats for Man City vs Spurs
The Belgian’s stats against Tottenham really were very impressive.
Doku had 49 touches of the ball, two shots on goal and made two key passes.
He made 37 passes in total and registered a completion rate of 86.5%.
The Belgian completed five dribbles, 36 ball carries – eight of which were progressive. And he put in a defensive shift as well, with one interception and one tackle to his name (FBREF).
Jeremy Doku was signed by Manchester City from Rennes in the summer of 2023 for around £50 million (Fabrizio Romano). He is still yet to justify that fee, but he gave everyone a glimpse of what he’s really capable of against Tottenham.
