Manchester City are now the only unbeaten side in the Premier League.
With eight matches played, City have won six and drawn two, leaving them in second place in the league table.
Pep Guardiola’s side have also played three games in the Champions League, drawing one and winning two, bagging nine goals in the process and not conceding any.
Their latest match saw the Blues sweep away Sparta Prague with a 5-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium, with four different names from City’s squad getting their names on the scoresheet.
Unbeaten across all competitions, one of City’s key players this season has found himself being spoken about for the recent form he’s been showing for the Blues off the back of what was a memorable night for him against Sparta.

Gabby Agbonlahor hails Erling Haaland after Sparta Prague masterclass
While discussing City’s win over Sparta in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Gabby Agbonlahor said this about Erling Haaland’s first goal of the night where he managed to do a mid-air, no-look backheel move to put the ball in the net from a Savinho cross.
“He’s just a different breed, isn’t he, Haaland. Best striker in the world for me.
“I think he needed last night as well, been a bit quiet in the Premier League. Obviously he’s had a death of a family friend off the pitch [which] definitely affected him, but he was back to his best last night and that goal, wow.
“I think the ‘keeper probably saves it though if it doesn’t bounce, it’s the bounce that kills the ‘keeper. Only Haaland scores them now.”
Darren Bent dismissed the notion of Haaland’s goal drought crisis
With 12 appearances to his name across all competitions this season, the 24-year-old, who City paid £51m to sign back in 2022, has found the back of the net on 13 occasions.
Haaland headed into the Sparta game having not scored in any of City’s three previous Premier League matches.
However, Darren Bent gave this explanation as to why Haaland wouldn’t have seen it as a crisis prior to the Sparta match.
He said: “He won’t see it like that. And the reason he won’t see it like that is because he scored twice for Norway against Slovenia and he scored against Bratislava in the Champions League.
“So in his head, he might be like it might be three league games but I’m still smashing the goals in regularly.
“You look at it and he’s still got two goals in his last three games, or three in his last five. So in his head [it won’t bother him], but I expect him to hit the back of the net at some point soon.
“If you go three games without scoring a goal people say oh that’s not that bad, but for him, you go crisis. He’ll go on a crazy run and then there might be a three-game period where he doesn’t score and then go on a crazy run again.
“He’s still the best in world football. One of the best goalscorers. Arguably one of the greatest goalscorers.
Now that Agbonlahor has said that Haaland is now back to his best form following his midweek brace, everyone at City will now be hoping he can get back to scoring goals regularly in the league again.
