Erling Haaland was back among the goals for Manchester City this past weekend.
Manchester City beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
Erling Haaland found the back of the net in the 19th minute.
The 23-year-old Norway international striker pounced on a Carlos Baleba mistake in the middle of the park and scored with a brilliant left-footed shot.
It was Haaland’s ninth goal in nine Premier League matches this season.
The striker was going through a ‘dry spell’ before the international break.
Haaland really struggled in Premier League matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal.
Defending Premier League champions City lost both games.
Garth Crooks on Manchester City striker Erling Haaland
Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks was impressed with Haaland this past weekend and has included the 23-year-old in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week while making an interesting observation about his game.
Crooks wrote about Haaland on BBC Sport: “If scoring goals means as much to Erling Haaland as it clearly showed when he put Manchester City 2-0 up against Brighton then I think their recent difficult period may be over.

“The Norway striker seems to have recovered his appetite for goals again with a glimpse of the kind of ruthlessness that has made him one of the most feared strikers in the world.
“City face BSC Young Boys in the Champions League in midweek and it is a chance for him to add to his goal tally.
“I’m convinced that Haaland needs the constant flow of goals and without them he’s like a fish out of water.”
Erling Haaland is back
I believe that Manchester City and Norway international striker Erling Haaland is now going to score goals for fun in the coming weeks.
City should be able to win against Young Boys with ease in the UEFA Champions League this week.
I expect Haaland to score one or two goals (maybe even three?) in Switzerland on Wednesday evening.
That should set him up nicely for the derby against Manchester United at Old Trafford next weekend.
United are not exactly doing great on the pitch and are defensively vulnerable.
I will not be surprised if Haaland finds the target against Erik ten Hag’s side in the Premier League game.
Then City will face Bournemouth in the Premier League and Young Boys again in the UEFA Champions League.
More goals for Haaland.
Haaland has scored 45 goals and given nine assists in 44 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
