Gary Neville sums up Erling Haaland display vs Arsenal in one word

Erling Haaland is not having the best of times at the moment, and the Manchester City striker failed to make a huge impact against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Manchester City lost 1-0 to Arsenal in North London in the Premier League.

Gabriel Martinelli scored the only goal of the match at the Emirates Stadium.

It came in the 86th minute.

Martinelli’s strike deflected in off Nathan Ake.

It was a largely disappointing game in which the defences came out on top.

And, Erling Haaland failed to score.

Again.

The Norway international started the match for City.

Many would have expected the striker to score a goal or two, but he failed to do much of note.

Gary Neville on Manchester City striker Erling Haaland vs Arsenal

The striker did not trouble the Arsenal defence much, leading Gary Neville to describe his performance as “anonymous”.

The former Manchester United defender was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports Premier League.

The Sky Sports pundit noted that like Haaland, Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah was also anonymous.

Neville said on his podcast: “We didn’t see any of the centre-forwards, Nketiah and Haaland, the whole game.

“I mean, they were basically anonymous in the game.”

My View: Erling Haaland will storm the Premier League soon

In my opinion, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will soon start banging in the goals for fun.

Yes, the striker is going through a barren spell, but we all know how good and lethal he is.

I am confident that after the international break, Haaland will start scoring frequently.

The striker has now gone three competitive matches without a goal.

The floodgates will open soon for Haaland.

Haaland has made 43 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The striker has scored 44 goals and given nine assists in those games.
