Alan Shearer last night praised Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku, following his performance against West Ham United.
City are back on top of the Premier League, after a 3-1 win over West Ham United.
Pep Guardiola, who was back on the touchline after recovering from back surgery, watched his side create a lot of chances but struggle to breach the Hammers and the brilliant Alphonse Areola for a large part of the game.
But the pressure told eventually.
And it was Doku who got the ball rolling for City.
After James Ward-Prowse scored for West Ham, the Belgian equalised, slotting brilliantly into the far corner.
And on Match of the Day, Doku received a brief word from Shearer…
Jeremy Doku praised by Alan Shearer after great performance in his second game for Manchester City
Doku was excellent against the Hammers.

The 21-year-old was a bit safe and, as Pep Guardiola said, ‘shy’ on his debut against Fulham before the international break.
But against West Ham, Doku was electric and showed much more confidence.
He gave Vladimir Coufal a very tough time.
And Doku looks to be a player who is going to cause real problems for full-backs.
Last night on Match of the Day, Doku came in for a positive word from Shearer, who said: “They just never panic. They know how good they are. West Ham were resilient. But we know, if you’re not at it for the full game against this Man City team then you’re going to get punished.
“40 seconds after half-time this happens. Doku who was mentioned in the interviews there, had a really bright game and was lively.”
Pep also showered praise on the star after the game.
Doku looks seriously exciting
If City fans were not blown away by Doku before, they should be now.
This was a really impressive showing from the youngster, and one that suggests he could become a real favourite.

He’s just got that explosiveness, the same kind shown by former Etihad wingers Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.
You just know that he is going to be a real handful for defenders.
Fans will need to be patient with him because he is still very young. But the more time he spends in this team and under Pep, the better and more consistent he will become.
