Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has lavished praise on Jeremy Doku for his electric display against West Ham United.
As the Sky Blues came back from behind to beat David Moyes’ side 3-1 at the London Stadium, the £55.5 million (Sky Sports) man was unplayable.

For starters, the Belgian, branded as ‘exceptional’ by Txiki Begiristain scored a terrific equalizer for City, beating his man before slotting the ball past Alphonse Areola.
But aside from his strike, the 21-year-old was extremely direct, taking on and leaving defenders for dead, whilst also taking the correct decision time after time and being an absolute livewire.

“I was in Barcelona when Jeremy arrived and I had the feeling that maybe he was a little shy in his first game. He’d just joined us, had two or three days’ training with a team that had won the treble and we spoke about this. I told him to use his quality as a winger, one on one or one vs two, if you have the feeling, go.”
Pep Guardiola also made an observation about the former Rennes winger during his debut for Manchester City against Fulham and the contrast in his outing against West Ham.
“From the first minute, he was incredible, aggressive with determination and arrived many times on the byline. I’m really pleased because we thought the quality was there, and he has started to prove it”, he said.
If this was the start of what is to come from Doku, the Etihad faithful should be very excited.
