Manchester City have enjoyed a very strong start to their latest Premier League campaign.

With three games played, Pep Guardiola has seen his side pick up three victories, making City and Liverpool the only sides in the division to do so.

Across those three games, the Blues have conceded two goals and bagged nine, which is more than any other team has managed to score.

Ahead of this weekend’s league outing against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium, one pundit and former top-flight star has shared some significant praise for one particular member of City’s squad who has played a big role in getting his side where they are right now.

Aaron Lennon says he absolutely loves Erling Haaland

Speaking on talkSPORT (12/9 9:36 AM), Aaron Lennon had this to say about Erling Haaland and his goalscoring efforts in the Premier League so far this season.

He said: “It’s scary what he’s doing. The numbers are scary and the hardest thing to do is score goals and he’s making it look so easy.

“He’s got everything in the locker. He’s got all kinds of finishes. You know what I love about him, he is so hungry to score goals. I love strikers like that.

“He just loves scoring and you’ve got to love him.”

Haaland is the definition of a star striker

Lennon isn’t the first former top-flight attacker to share his astonishment at what the City striker has done this season, as Darren Bent said that Haaland’s recent goalscoring efforts are “not normal.”

After winning his second consecutive Golden Boot by scoring 27 goals in 31 league appearances last season, Haaland has already found the back of the net seven times across City’s first three matches of the campaign.

Having scored his tenth and 11th hat-tricks for the Manchester club in his two previous league games, the 24-year-old is well on his way to potentially securing a third consecutive Golden Boot.

As one of the best goalscorers in the world right now, it’s easy to see why Lennon is such a big admirer of Haaland.
