Man City asked to sign Alessandro Bastoni according to his agent
In a recent post on his official X account, Fabrizio Romano relayed comments made by Tullio Tinti, the agent of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, to Sky about the previous interest shown in the player by City.
He said: “Man City asked for Bastoni years ago, recently Real Madrid did the same. Inter want to win and they’re not going to sell their top players like Bastoni.”
City’s previous interest in Bastoni
Back in April last year, it was claimed that Pep Guardiola was a big fan of the centre-back, who played against City in the 2023 Champions League final.
Having made 201 appearances for Inter across all competitions, chipping in with four goals and 18 assists, the 25-year-old, who is currently picking up a weekly wage of £164k-a-week according to Capology, has won numerous trophies with his club.
In his previous season with Inter, Bastoni ended the Serie A campaign with the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions out of any defender (69) in the squad.
This highlights how much of a capable defender he is and how important he is for the team.
Dubbed a “leader” by Marco Materazzi in a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport (via FCInterNews), it’s no surprise that City and Real have previously asked about potentially signing the centre-half.
